Job Description
The Floral and Dcor Designer will contribute in the production and Execution of a combination of fresh and silk designs for weddings, special events, retail sales, and the required facility arrangements for Stroudsmoor Country inn. The intention of this department is to design and sell excellent quality floral and dcor while creating a stress-free-environment for clients to plan their event.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties
Attend and take part in weekly board meetings
Complete weekly and daily assigned tasks
Produce floral and hard good designs using fresh, silk and dried floras in accordance with the designs and recipes set by managements contracts
Assist Floral and Dcor team with set-up and delivery of product in an organized and professional manner
Retrieve items from all buildings and store them properly in the designated areas
Work as a team member in the maintenance and cleaning of the design studio, shop and storage areas and company vehicles by following the weekly cleaning list at the end of each week and designated by management
General Duties:
Monitor and respond to floral supplies by making the floral coordinator aware of any shortages or use of posted shortlist
Take an active role in maintaining the health and wellbeing of all salable products
Gather, label and organize assigned items in an orderly and neat manner so as to be compatible with the entire team
Ensure that all gathered items are in working order while reporting any disrepair to management
Being actively involved in maintaining a level of sense and organization in the workshop, basement and other storage areas
Properly water, feed, trim and care for the flowers/foliage being sold to continually offer the freshest of products
Retrieval of items after the event with and without the assistance of other associates
Resetting each building at the end of the week by doing a walk thru to ensure that all Floral paraphernalia is gathered and returned and that all house flowers are reset in their intended location and condition
Having general knowledge of house flower arrangements in each building
Having and maintaining the necessary tools to complete each task, reporting any undersupplied items to management
Communicate to the manager any problem or idea that would be beneficial to the company
Working knowledge of shipping and receiving, using departmental procedures
General Requirements:
Be knowledgeable of supplies, tools and skills of the trade
Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. on a moderate basis
Ability to climb ladders carrying floral material
Ability to organize and follow schedule
Ability to work without supervision, capable of being a self-starter
Good communication and team work skills
Have a set of tools, which will be supplemented by the company as needed. (Tools needed include wire cutter, scissor, black permanent marker, highlighter and pen.)
Follow the guidelines of the Employee Handbook and the recommendations from the Safety Committee
Flexibility of scheduling: An understanding that in the hospitality business, hours are not always set in stone. Although ample notification is given of scheduled days, the hours in that day may vary according to the volume of work. This flexibility of hours is considered to be a required expectation.

Full length black work pants, black socks
Black non-skid, slip resistant work shoes
No facial piercings and no visible tattoos to the guests
