The USC School of Cinematic Arts is seeking an adjunct faculty member in entertainment industry with a specialty in producing media for a studio, network, streaming, platform, or creative agency to teach the course CNTV 481 Entertainment Industry Launchpad. This course covers the practical aspects of how to attain entry-level jobs in the entertainment industry across a variety of fields, including talent agency & management, production, creative development, marketing, publicity, gaming, studio operations, and business & legal affairs, among others. The course also teaches professional development skills, including how to create and update personal resumes, cover letters, and/ or creative portfolios.
Applicants will be qualified to teach undergraduate students in the creative and business practices of producing, developing, financing and marketing all forms of media content, short form/long form at both levels. Qualified applicants will also be able to draw upon their entertainment industry network to recruit industry mentors for students enrolled in the course. This is a senior capstone course available only to students in the John H. Mitchell Business of Cinematic Arts program.
Qualified candidates will have extensive practical experience in producing, financing, marketing and distributing various forms of media content. Applicants will be able to provide an in-depth learning experience that offers a thorough understanding of content creation and where the future of the industry is headed.
Candidates will be required to call upon contacts from various business units of major entertainment companies and agencies to offer a unique learning experience, and to support lecture topics and discussion of current events related to creating for film, television, web, and more. Prior teaching or guest lecturer experience at the university level is preferred.
USC reserves the Adjunct appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year but, in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
The coresalaryrangefor this position is $30 - $45 per hour. This is an adjunct 25% FTE position.

Minimum Education: Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Fine Arts from a 4-year institution.
Preferred Education: Masters degree, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated teaching experience, ideally at the university level, but inclusive of professional and community seminars, workshops, and mentorships.
Minimum Experience: 5-7 years of experience producing various forms of media at the executive level for a studio, network, streaming platform, and/or creative agency.
