The Graphics Acceleration Drivers team within Apple’s Graphics, GPU, and Display organization is a dynamic group responsible for developing software that powers industry-leading display technologies across all Apple products, including Mac, iPad, Apple TV, iPhone, Watch, and Vision. We’re seeking a motivated embedded firmware engineer to join our team. Description
This is a high-visibility, cross-functional, and dynamic role that requires a deep understanding of multiple platforms, each with components managed by different teams, along with an awareness of the various initiatives across those teams. In a vibrant and collaborative environment, you will be responsible for all aspects of display driver development, including architecture, design, coding, bring-up, debugging, and deployment.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the design, implementation, debugging, and delivery of display technologies across Mac, iPad, Apple TV, iPhone, Watch, and Vision.
Contributing to advancements in display technologies, power management, color management, HDR, and other critical panel technologies.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement user-facing features, troubleshoot complex issues, and resolve issues efficiently
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent programming skills and knowledge of C/C++
- Excellent development experience on Unix/ Linux/ Mac OS
- Excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- A real passion for embedded software development
- Experience developing multi-threaded and/or multi-process systems
- Experience using and implementing general operating system concepts and strong kernel-mode device driver development skills
- Experience with systems engineering or low-level hardware & firmware/ driver programming
- Technical BS/MS degree

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
