The Cancer Center, part of a non-profit health system, is home to a nationally renowned, highly-skilled, innovative and respected team of providers with accreditations for the most advanced technologies and cancer treatment options in the country. Using advanced technologies like tumor-genetic profiling and achieving unique accreditations for several radiation treatments and more than 120 therapeutic agents, the cancer treatment facility believes that your treatment plan should be as unique as you are. The Cancer Center is equipped with one Varian True Beam linear accelerator, an Elekta Flexitron HDR after loader, superficial x-ray unit, and a departmental CT simulation with 4D capabilities. The clinical scope of the practice is wide with treatments and techniques including VMAT, SRS, SBRT, DIBH, HDR brachytherapy, LDR brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals.
*Sign on bonus with a two (2) year commitment. This is an onsite position (not remote). Starting wage dependent upon experience, education, and skill set.
General Objectives:
As a member of the radiation oncology team, administers ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating diseases.
Demonstrates general understanding of anatomy and physiology pathology, medical terminology, oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics, radiation oncology techniques, radiation safety and the psychosocial aspects of cancer toward the end.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a radiation therapy training program, R.T. (T) certification and maintaining certification.
- Experience in the area of Radiation Oncology is preferred, but not required. We are considering all levels of experience for this position.
- Skills:
- Working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations pertaining to radiation therapy
- Ability to interpret and deliver treatments per plans and relevant treatment protocols
- Experience with modern radiation therapy delivery systems, imaging systems and electronic medical records
- Experience with the following techniques required: Breath Hold, SRS and SBRT, Superficial and HDR
- Working knowledge of Mosaiq highly preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
