Brown Rice & Flax Seeds Idli

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Poha
  • 1/2 cup cooked steamed rice
  • Few whole flax seeds
  • 2 cups soaked brown rice (basmati)
  • 1 cup urad dal
  • 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds soaked

Method

    Idli Batter:
    1 cup Poha
    1/2 cup cooked rice
    Few whole flax seeds
    2 cups soaked brown rice (basmati)
    1 cup urad dal
    1 tbsp fenugreek seeds soaked
    Soak poha and cooked rice in one bowl
    Raw rice soaked in the second bowl
    Third bowl fenugreek and urad dal
    Soak all for 8 hours before grinding it in the evening to be eaten the next day (ferment overnight in a warm dry place).
    Add salt to the batter just before steaming.
    Serve it with Sambar or Coconut Chutney.
