  • Coconut oil or regular oil
  • Mustard seeds (Rai)
  • Curry leaves
  • Green chillies
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Spring onion bulbs
  • Red chilli powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Pepper powder
  • Turmeric
  • Salt
  • Tomato puree or tomato ketchup
  • Coconut milk or coconut milk powder
  • Dried Plums or Imli (tamarind) water
  • Cod fish Fillets

Method

    Marinate the fish fillets in little turmeric powder and salt.
    Take some Coconut Oil or Regular oil. Add Rai, curry leaves, green chillies.
    Add some coarsely ground fresh ginger, garlic and spring onion bulbs (used spring onions instead and in this manner).
    Add some tomato puree or a little tomato ketchup.
    Add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder.
    Add a few dried plums for sourness or imli water.
    2 cans of coconut milk or 5 tbsps of coconut milk powder. Cook the gravy.
    Add the fish in at the end, cover the lid bring it a boil and switch off the flame and leave covered for a few minutes.
    Serve with steamed rice.
