Simple Multipurpose Dahi Raita
Can be made with dahi or yogurt or greek yogurt- 3 cups thick plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 small green chilly (deseed chopped) (if you like spicy add more and do not deseed)
- Half of 1/4 teaspoon red chilly powder (if you like spicy add more)
- 1 Onion finely chopped (small)
- 1 small cucumber finely chopped
- 1 small tomato finely chopped
- 1/2 cup coriander leaves finely chopped
Method
Hand mix with spoon (do not use mixer or electric hand whisk) together salt cumin powder red chilly powder green chilly and yogurt mix well till smooth.
Add all the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Put the raita in an airtight container on the shelf of the fridge to cool for half an hour.
Once you remove it from the fridge you will notice that the veggies will leave a little water. Just give it a quick hand mix.
Serve with biryani or gravy dishes or parathas etc.
