Had leftover green chutney from the other day when we prepared vegetable sandwiches so used it to make these 2 snack dishes. Please note If you have leftover chapatis instead of sliced bread you can use chapatis and make a Salami Chutney Cheese Butter Roll or Wrap as shown in the picture.

  • Green Coconut Chutney Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup grated Fresh Coconut
  • 1/4 inch Ginger
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Green Chilies deseeded and chopped (if you like it spicy you can keep the seeds as is and increase the amount of chilies)
  • 1/2 cup chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Roasted Peanuts (If you are allergic to nuts you can remove this)
  • 1½ teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) Water
  • Salt half of 1/4 teaspoon or as per requirement
  • Assembling the Sandwich Ingredients
  • Amul Butter
  • Green Coconut Chutney
  • 1 Packet Chicken Salami (defrosted and room temperature)
  • Grated Amul Cheese or Mozzarella Cheese
  • 2 slices White Sliced Bread (you can use any bread)

Method

    Green Coconut Chutney Method
Take grated coconut, ginger, garlic, green chilies, roasted peanuts (optional) and salt in a small chutney jar of a food processor or grinder.
Grind them together until medium coarse texture.
Add coriander leaves, lemon juice, and water.
Grind again and make a smooth paste. Add more water if required to get the desired consistency and mix well. Transfer it to a serving bowl.

    Assembling the Sandwich Method
Take 2 slices of bread, apply butter on 1 slice and chutney on the other.
On the buttered slice add 2-3 pieces of salami (depending on size) and on the chutney slice add cheese.
Put the sandwich in a sandwich maker till it cooks.
The butter and cheese will melt and fuse the slices together automatically to make a sandwich.
If you do not have a sandwich maker use a non stick pan to toast the sandwich. The butter and cheese will melt and fuse the slices together automatically to make a sandwich.
Before serving, poke a fork in it at a couple of places to let the steam out because the outside of the sandwich may cool down but the inside of the sandwich might still be burning hot.
    Serve hot.
    Assembling the Sandwich serves 1
